Bump (Wave) Setup

In the bump setup tab you can specify bump mapping.

(A) Texture Mapping

replaces the intensity of the graphic with bump. (This is not a displaced mapping.)  For a color graphic only brightness is referred.

(1) Generate

You can select two generated method. One is procedural mapping and the other is using bitmap file.
When [Procedural] selected the mapping graphics created realtime in the rendering graphic.
When [Bitmap File] selected the mapping graphic is imported an bitmap file.

(2) Library

recalls a preset library or a registered mapping pattern.

(3) Register

registers the mapping setup to the library.

(4) Import Bitmap File

imports an external bitmap file as a mapping graphic.

(5) Export Bitmap File

exports the selected bitmap graphic as a bitmap file.
This option is mainly used when a graphic has to be extracted from a combined setup file of the KashBird.

(6) Rough

This option is visible only for [Procedural].
With a large value rough bumps are specified.

(7) Surface

This option is visible only for [Procedural].
With a large value smooth bumps are specified.

(8) Size

This option is visible only for [Procedural].
specified bump size.

(9) Enter Numbers / Mapping Size / Adjust Map

This option is visible only for the normal mapping

Enter Numbers specifies size of the mapping numerically. This value is a relative value so that you need cut and try. For a movie creation shifting this value results also a shifting of the mapping.

Mapping Size activates [Mapping Size] button. If you click this button a map window will come up where you can specify the mapping position by mouse operation.  Please refer to Here for the detail.

Adjust Map adjust the size of the graphic to be mapped and the size of the map in 1 to 1. This is useful for a small map such as grayscale. For the digital map it cannot be used since the size of the map is too large.

(10) Tiling

enables tiling. Uncheck it if you want a single mapping.

(11) Bump Strength

specifies bump strength. With a large value large bumps are specified but too large values make a non-realistic picture. This value should be from 10 to 100. For water surface smaller value is recommended.

(12) Reverse Bump

Normally the point with a higher brightness projects out. With this check the place with lower brightness projects out.
